Weskus Grotjie is a unique and romantic getaway for two, located on the historic Steenbokfontein Seafarm just 8 km south of Lambert’s Bay on South Africa’s beautiful West Coast. This extraordinary accommodation is built into a natural rock formation and offers a peaceful atmosphere with breathtaking views of the farm and the ocean.

Accommodation and Amenities
The open-plan unit features a queen-size bed made from wood salvaged from the HMS Sybille, which was shipwrecked nearby in 1901. The en-suite bathroom has a large bath and a rock-enclosed shower with stunning views over the veld and sea. Guests are provided with linen, towels, and natural rooibos soap.

The kitchenette is equipped with a fridge, two-plate stove, mini oven, kettle, cutlery, and crockery. There is no television—guests are invited to enjoy the sounds of the ocean, birds, and friendly sheep instead. Outside, there’s a stoep (veranda) with a table, benches, and a portable braai (barbecue drum). Guests are asked to bring their own firewood and groceries, as the nearest town is 8 km away.

Activities and Surroundings
Steenbokfontein Seafarm offers a range of activities for nature lovers and explorers. Guests can visit the ancient Khoisan caves, where rock art dating back over 6000 years can be admired. Other activities include hiking trails, mountain biking, birdwatching, and private beach walks. The farm also features a labyrinth for reflective walks and a charming restaurant serving traditional Sandveld cuisine.
